Study molecules cheap

For a while ago a read about the Nokia phone microscope that saved tens of thousand dollars. Now this open hardware is useful to study molecules and can save universities for hundreds of thousand dollars:

Why use R statistical program?

Here are some good points:

"The quants at financial services companies have taken a particular shining to R, and not just because they are cheap."
