"Open source and Linux have been around for a long time, but have been a quiet area in software until about the last two years," said Scruggs. As OSDL has pushed the development of Linux, and others have promoted the use of other open-source technologies, plenty of people outside of Oregon have also taken notice of the opportunities that open source offers.
