Open Access Now | Data mining Open Access research

Open Access Now | Data mining Open Access research: "The advent of extensible markup language (XML) as a standard for information interchange holds invaluable promise, as XML makes it possible to express mathematical equations and chemical structures in a way that a computer can easily recognize and process."

XML in OpenDocument is an extremely good idea for institutional repositories, but the Microsoft XLM is the completely oposite because of the "trusted computing" issues, vendor-lockins, expensive upgrade paths for both hardware and software.
