Linux in Government: Essential IT Knowledge for Third World and Developing Countries | Linux Journal

Linux in Government: Essential IT Knowledge for Third World and Developing Countries | Linux Journal: "I would disassemble the parts, lay them on a table and then reassemble them when the session started. I timed the assembly at about 17 minutes."

Assembly lines in Africa? It takes about 15 minutes to put together computerparts, and then you can get excactly the computer you want, and more and more of the parts is possible to produce without any licences. They are doing this in India now, and produce computers (with the same specifications that I have at my office) with full Linux for only 225 USD. It should be possible to produce computers like this in Africa for less then 100 USD within a year or two.
